WSI Employee-Referral Program

You can help WSI, a friend, and yourself by participating in the WSI Employee Referral Program. If you are an eligible employee, you can earn a cash award of up to $2,000 (less taxes) if you refer an external applicant who is hired to a designated position for our Iraq Fire and Emergency Services project.

Who is an Eligible Employee?

Any active employee on the WSI payroll can participate with the exception of the following: WSI Human Resources department employees; Senior management (Corporate VP’s and above); any employees involved in the recruiting or hiring process for the Iraq Fire and Emergency Services project.

What is a Designated Open Position?

Designated positions are for active firefighters (career or volunteer) with the following qualifications:

1.      State certification at both Firefighter Level I and Level II.

2.      State certification at both Hazardous Materials Awareness and Operations levels.

3.      First Responder certified.

4.      Minimum of three years firefighting experience (career or volunteer).

To learn more about the positions you can visit www.wsihq.com and click on Iraq Fire Protection Services EMS or contact Kris Kluzinski at kkluzinski@wsihq.com.

How do I Refer An External Applicant?

An Employee Referral Form may be obtained via e-mail by contacting (703) 516-4243 or by sending an e-mail request to kkluzinski@wsihq.com. Fill out the form or a copy of it. Submit the completed form along with the referred persons resume to kkluzinski@wsihq.com. Once the resume has been reviewed for eligibility, an application package will be sent to the referred potential candidate. The referred candidate will be instructed to return their completed application, with a signed copy of the referral form, acknowledging you as the person that referred them for this project.

The following referrals are not considered eligible for the cash award: anyone who’s resume for the Iraq Fire and Emergency Services project has been received and filed within the previous 12 months, anyone who has been a WSI employee on the Iraq Fire and Emergency Services project within the previous 12 months, or who has applied and received an application for the Iraq Fire and Emergency Services project within the previous 12 months.

How Do I Get My Cash Award?

If your referral becomes a WSI employee and deploys on the project, you will receive a cash award of $1,000 (less taxes), and $2,000 (less taxes) for “hard-to-fill” positions. “Hard-to-fill” positions will be identified by the Iraq Fire and Emergency Services recruiting office. They include but are not limited to Assistant Chiefs of Fire Prevention, Training, and Operations. Specific “hard-to-fill” positions may be added, have eligibility requirements changed, or be deleted during the life of the project based on contract requirements. Half of the respective cash award will be paid upon successful deployment by the referred employee, and the balance once the referred employee has completed six months of employment. You must be employed by WSI during each of these periods to collect payment.

Remember, there is no limit on the number of referrals an employee can make, and there is no limit on the number of awards an employee can receive.

The WSI Office of Homeland and International Security Services sponsors this program and reserves the right to determine whether or not referred applicants are qualified/eligible for the open positions covered by the program. The WSI Office of Homeland and International Security Services reserves the right to modify or discontinue this program at any time. Should the program be discontinued, any in-process referrals will be handled on an individual basis.
