Uniformed Supervisor
Nevada Test Site
Wackenhut Services, Incorporated-Nevada Operations, a security contractor to the Department of Energy at the Nevada Test Site, although not currently hiring, is accepting applications for Uniformed Supervisor for future consideration. Position Details
- Provides supervision and evaluation of assigned protective force personnel and ensures they function effectively in responding to unusual or emergency situations.
- Ensures that personnel comply with their orders, are properly equipped and that training exercises are conducted efficiently and safely.
- Ensures station orders are current, inspects security stations, and reviews official reports and logs.
- Conducts surveys of security interests and facilities to ensure compliance with requirements and contractual obligations.
Requirements
- Two year college equivalency from an accredited college/university or combination of academic training and other experience.
- More than one year of related Protective Force security experience with Department of Energy or similar experience with the military in the security field.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, effective written and oral communication skills and knowledge of security practices.
Applicants must also
- Be a U.S. Citizen at least 21 years old with HS diploma or GED.
- Qualify for the required department of Energy security clearance.
- Pass medical, psychological & physical fitness standards in accordance with Code of Federal Regulations 10 CFR 1046 (must run 1 mile in 8.5 minutes and prone-to-running 40-yard dash in 8 seconds) prior to hire and annually thereafter.
- Qualify initially & annually with .40 cal pistol, M-4 rifle, M-240 machine gun and M203 grenade launcher.
- Take and Pass a psychological exam.
- Be able to work in inclement weather and solitary duty in desolate areas.
- Be willing to work long shifts (12-14 hours), days, nights, weekends and holidays as needed.

- A subsistence amount of $5.00 is paid for each day worked at the Nevada Test Site.
- Employees may exercise on duty, as operational requirements permit, up to three times per week to maintain fitness standards.
Applicants must be willing to travel to Las Vegas at their own expense to complete testing (medical exam, psychological exam, and physical fitness test) after receiving a job offer prior to starting work.
